Arm & hammer is full of aluminum so you should buy it at a health food store. Metals are not good for you.

Baking soda is good, take just about quarter of tea spoon in glass of water. Don’t make a habit and don’t take it if you are feeling well because the digesting system needs the acid to do digest the food and for other liquid that the body produces by the thyroid gland. You may try Rolaids tablets also, I am taking it for twenty years, it is made of pure calcium and it comes in different flavors; it is proven by doctors. 4 $ for one hundred tablets. Chew and swallow for instant relief.

Directions to use as antacid are on the box. I trust it more than prescription drugs. It works and has been around a long time.

My father uses it, and I have here and there. I know that heart burn is an acid problem, caused by a deficiency to trigger a natural stomach liquid to counter-act the acid. I heard most marketed substances we buy in stores is a acid, that causes the stomach acid to go through the roof,(so to speak), and as a result, the natural stomach reaction occures, releasing the natural antidote, which we all have, I am also not a medical doctor.

I’m not a doctor, nor chemist but I faced the same problem as you. And I remember the first time I had real heartburn.. lordy..
Did the same as you and had some success. One thing I noticed, as with many acid/base meetings, a gas is formed, which I pleasantly burrpeed. But for some w/ comprimised health etc., it could be a problem. There’s the issue of Sodium as well, but again I lack the expertise.
